Did you know that a Pilates Teacher is also a student?

As Pilates teachers we never stop learning. Most of us became teachers because we were fas

cinated by the work, results and benefits of Pilates and wanted to dig deeper.

The learning never ends! We constantly seek out new ideas, methods, cues and exercises to reach our clients. Sometimes we meet a new client who presents us with a challenge that requires us to learn new material, approaches, or just how to apply the principles we already know to a new situation.

It takes hundreds of hours of learning and practice to become a Pilates instructor, but it doesn’t stop there. Continuing education is important. This can be in the form of videos, articles, books, classes or workshops.

Last month I had the pleasure of attending a wonderful workshop in Santa Barbara accompanied by our very own Anita. This workshop was an advanced course for Pilates for Neurological Conditions held over two days. One thing that impressed me is how challenging the work was, and how appropriate for any body. After all, we all have a brain, spinal column and nerves!

I always enjoy learning new skills to bring back to enhance my teaching at Love Pilates. I know the other teachers feel the same way. We never stop learning, and neither do you! Feel free to ask us your questions, and if we don’t know the answer, it’s a great opportunity to learn something new!

Here’s to a great start to the school year for all of our teachers, clients, and of course our clients who are teachers!

Sharing Love for Pilates,
